Guru's speech

Jai Shri Krishna

The Bhagavad-Gita talks of many ways, or paths, in which we can reach
the Almighty. For seekers of knowledge, there is the path of knowledge
called ‘gyan yoga’. For people who have love and devotion towards God, there is the path of devotion called ‘bhakti yoga’. The majority of us are treading the path of ‘karma yoga’, the path of action.

We are not sanyasi’s (ascetics). We are householders and we can learn from the Bhagavad-Gita
how to live a fruitful, peaceful and happy life. We can learn how to
enjoy all that life has to offer in a tasteful manner, while at the
same time offering everything we have to the Almighty.

We always prefer sweetness, whether in taste or in smell. We dislike
bad odours and bad tastes. In many ways, we are like flies! However,
the Gita
teaches us that we should learn to live like the fly that sits on
sugar, and not like the fly that sits on honey. Both of these flies
enjoy sweetness; but the former is free to fly away after enjoying the
sugar while the latter gets stuck in the honey and loses its freedom to
fly.

We need not feel sorry for being in the world. Nor should we blame life
for various deceitful bonds. Nor do we need to pray to God for setting
us free from this world. Instead of such negative thoughts, we should
gladly accept the life bestowed upon us.

People often say that this world is an illusion, but our longing for
physical comforts does not cease, or even decrease! Why this fallacy?
One should thank God for everything that He has given to us. One should
accept it as a kind gift to be used humbly and to be offered back to
Him with the same humility. Thinking negatively without renunciation is
hypocrisy.

There are devotees who do not like the world. They constantly say,”O
God, You are good; but the world created by you is bad.” How correct
are they in saying this? Is this their love for God? God will certainly
not like someone talking ill of His creation. How can we speak
negatively of all the things of this world that we ourselves long for
throughout our lives? We should live the life given to us joyfully.

The life and the teachings of Shri Krishna show us how to live. We need
to be like the fly that enjoys the sweetness of the world without
becoming attached to it. That way, we will enjoy all that we face and
carry out all our actions in a fruitful manner. This is the secret to
being a true karma yogi.

I pray that such divine messages and facets of advice given in our
scriptures can be applied into our lives and take us further in our
journey to God.

With blessings,

Adesh kumar

Guru's speech

Jai Shri Krishna

The world is full of fear: fear of others, fear of ourselves, fear of
the future. Fear exists as long as there is misunderstanding; and there
is no peace as long as there is fear. It is our misunderstanding that
the material world is a reality. We are actually dreaming in the night
of ignorance and we mistake this dream to be reality. The world is full
of fear on account of this misunderstanding; hence there is no peace.
How can this worldly fear be removed?

Imagine a man is dreaming while asleep in his air-conditioned room on a
soft comfortable pillow. In his dream, he sees that he is in a forest
and a tiger is chasing him. He is running for his life in immense fear.
The man begins to sweat while sleeping on his bed. He tosses and turns
and appears to be distressed. The man eventually shouts, “Help! Help!
Somebody save me from the tiger! I’m going to be killed.” In reality,
there is no forest or tiger but his fear is real. How can something
unreal have such an effect?

The cries of the man wake up his wife who then tries to pacify him. She
knows that her husband is seeing a bad dream. If her husband continues
to cry for help, the wife may even begin to laugh, because she know it
is not real. To save him from the non-existent tiger, she can do only
one thing: she has to awaken him from his sleep.

In the same manner, when people, afraid of worldly pain, request a
learned person for help and advice, the learned person often just
laughs. He knows that there is only one remedy: to wake up to the
reality.

Satsang is an endeavour to become awakened. The scriptures and saints awaken us. A true teacher (sadguru) is an awakened person who can pull us out of the dream state.

The tiger in the forest in the air-conditioned room is false. Once this
reality is realised, the fear is gone! With the removal of
misunderstanding, the fear goes and peace is established.

In the Ayodhyakaand of the Ramcharitmanas, Goswami Tulsidasji has written:

hoi bibeku moha bhrama bhaagaa

taba raghunaatha charan anuraagaa
|

raama brahma paramaarath roopaa

abigata alakha anaadi anoopaa
||

“It is only when true discrimination dawns that the errors of delusion
disappear. Then, with the coming of spiritual enlightenment, is born
devotion to the feet of Lord Rama. This is the highest spiritual
wisdom: to be devoted to the feet of Rama in thought, word and deed."

I pray that through the medium of satsang, we continue on our journey to become enlightened and free of all misunderstandings, and hence free of all fear.

With blessings,
Adesh kumar

My thaught

Jai Shri Krishna

There are always two ways of looking at a situation: either we can look
outwards or we can look inwards. Our mind has the natural tendency of
looking outwards, searching for explanation from others, finding faults
in others, blaming the world and accusing others of shortcomings.
However, whenever an incident or accident takes place we should make
every effort to look inwards and see if we were at fault in any way.

This is indeed a very difficult exercise. We cannot easily find our
shortcomings because our mind is besmeared with the dark colours of our
wants and desires. Just as we cannot see our own reflections in a
mirror if the mirror is dirty, similarly, we must clean the mirror of
our mind so that we can look inwards effectively. How can we clean the
mirror of our mind? Through the exercise ‘self-study’.

Self-study cleans our mind. It brings light and clarity to our mind,
like a candle or a torch. In ancient times, this torch of self-study
was taught to individuals during their childhood. Children at the
tender age of 5 or 6 years old were sent to a gurukul,
an ancient form of boarding school. Here, children acquired true
knowledge of the scriptures and learnt to carry out the activities of
life in a correct manner. The teachers of those days led their students
effectively, and education was not merely the dissemination of
information like it is today.

Knowledge is the key. We must illumine our minds through knowledge
ourselves by reading, studying and understanding the scriptures. This
will lead to self-study. The mind cannot remain idle. We must keep it
busy and must keep feeding it. Self-study can feed the mind, and hence
becomes food for life. This eventually brings more saattvikta (goodness) and removes taamsikta (darkness and ignorance) from our mind.

Self-study inspires meditation, and in fact meditation inspires
self-study. They are complementary. Hence, we must meditate when we
face difficult situations and circumstances in life. Even if the fault
looks as it may be due to others, we must meditate to find our own
mistakes. We’ll find that there is no reaction without an action. Our
error, however small, must be there.

Self-study is a divine property. It is the path that leads from death
to immortality. With the torch of self-study in our hands, the often
long, troublesome and dark path of life can remain naturally
illuminated and beautiful forever.

With blessings,
Adesh kumar

With love

Jai Shri Krishna
When
we talk of 'Love' these days, what do we understand? The love that is
spoken about by young people? The love represented on television and in
the media? The love that is short-lived? The love that people 'fall in'
and 'fall out' of? Is this really love or is it lust?

When
I talk about love, I talk of the love that Meerabai had for Lord
Krishna; which made her dance in ecstasy, and even made her drink
poison and endure other difficulties. The same love is manifest in
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and in Sant Tukaram. Where such love is present,
that is where the Lord manifests. Tulsidasji says in the
Ramacharitamanas:

'hari vyaapaka sarvatra samaanaa, prema te pragat hohin main jaanaa'
"God is equally present everywhere, (however) I have realised that He appears where Love is."

When
I talk about love, I talk of that love which transforms an individual
into a universal being. I talk of the love that makes one truly
learned. Saint Kabir says:

"pothee padha padha jag muaa pandit bhayaa na koi,
dhaayi akshar prema kaa padhe so pandit hoi"

"The world dies in labour of learning; but none is called a learned one.
Only the one, who really learns the limited letters of 'Love' becomes learned."

What
does the word 'LOVE' stand for? Let us take each of the letters: 'L'
stands for Loyalty; 'O' stands for Objectivity; 'V' stands for
Veracity; and 'E' stands for Equity. If we develop the habit of love
with these four qualities, the world can become a fascinating place for
us.

Sacred
scriptures, such as the Ramayana and the Shrimad Bhagavatam, help us
feel the euphoria of love. They teach us that where there is love,
there is also sacrifice and surrender. Each character in the Ramayana
personifies these two traits. It is often difficult to tell which
character has sacrificed and surrendered the most. Listening to such
stories and epics awaken these qualities in the listeners.

Human
beings today are becoming selfish, narrow minded and cruel. They can
even kill for selfish ends. The world can become an abode of peace if
we learn to love one another.

These
days, we know how to use one another, but we do not know how to love
each other. Without such love, what is the value of our relations? They
are broken as soon as they have served a purpose. Tulsidasji says:

"sura nara muni saba ki yaha riti, svaarath laag karahin saba priti"
"Gods, humans, and saints all have the habit of loving till their purpose is fulfilled."

Rather
than love, wealth is regarded to have more value. The famous poet Gang
says to King Akbar: "As long as one has silver coins in his pocket, his
father says that he is a good son; his sister says that he is a
handsome brother; his mother says he is a luminary in the family to
bring respect; and his wife says that he is her Lord for whom she can
make all sacrifices."

This
is not love, this is selfishness. That is the difference between love
and selfishness. Love in fact gives and forgives, selfishness gets and
forgets! In selfishness, people do not love; they use one another, and
this policy of using others is nothing but a policy of lust.

Hence,
when we talk of love, we should talk of the true love that the great
saints of India have written about; the love that transforms us; the
love that brings about good qualities within us; the love that is seen
in our sacred scriptures; and the love that gives and forgives.

May this love become manifest and bring peace and happiness in the lives of all.

With love,
Adesh kumar

    THINGS YOU NEVER KNEW
YOUR CELLPHONE COULD DO

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.

Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an  emergency tool for

survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:
-

1

EMERGENCY

*

               The Emergency Number
worldwide for
**Mobile** is   112

               .* If you find
yourself out of coverage area of
your mobile network and there is an emergency,

               dial
112

               and the mobile will
search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you,

               and interestingly this
number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.

               **Try it out.**

2

Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have remote keys?

This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:

If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call

someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a   foot from your car door and have the person

at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on

their end. Your car will unlock.

Saves someone from having to drive your

keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away,

and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car,
you

can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

3

Hidden Battery Power

               Imagine your cell
battery is
very low , you are expecting an

important call
and you don't have a charger.

Nokia instrument comes with a reserve
battery.

               To activate, press the
keys

               *3370#

               Your cell will restart
with this reserve and the instrument will show a
50% increase in battery.

                This
reserve will get charged when you
charge your cell next time.

AND

4

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your
phone:

* # 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your

handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get

stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They

will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the

SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever
stole it can't use/sell it either.

5

Be care while using your mobile phone

                    When you
try to call someone through mobile phone, don't put your mobile closer

                 to your ears
until the recipient answers.

Because directly after dialing, the mobile phone
would use it's maximum

               signaling power, which
is: 2watts = 33dbi

Please Be Careful, Message as received (Save
your brain)

Please use left ear while using cell
(mobile), because if you use the right one

                 it will affect
brain directly.

This is a true fact from Apollo
medical team.

A LOVE STORY

One day, I woked early in the morning to watch the sunrise.
As the beauty of God's creation is beyond description.
As I watched, I praised God for His beautiful work.
As I sat there, I felt the Lord's presence with me.

He asked me,.. "Do you love me?"
I answered, "Ofcourse God!  you are my Lord and savior!"
Then He asked,  "If you were phisically handicapped would you still love me?"
I
was perplexed..I looked down upon my arms, legs and the rest of my body
and wondered how many things I would'nt be able to do, the things that
I tooked for granted.
And answered,   "It would be tough Lord, but I would still love you,"

Then the Lord said,... If you were blind, would you still love my creation?"

How could I love something without being able to see it?
Then I thought of all the blind people in the world and how many of them still loved God and His creation.
So I answered,  "It's so hard to think of it, but I would still love you."

The Lord then asked me, "If you were deaf, would you still listen to my word?"
How could I listen to anything being deaf?  Then I understood.
Listening to God's Word is not merely using our ears, but our hearts.
I answered,  "It would be tough, but I would still listen to Your word."

Then Lord then asked, "If you were mute, would you still praised My Name?"
How could I praised without a voice?
Then it occured to me: God wants us to sing from our very heart and soul.
It
never matters what we sound like. And praising God is not always with a
song, but when we are persecuted, we give God praise with our words of
thanks.
So I answered, "Though I could not physically sing, I would still praise Your Name."

And the Lord asked,"Do you really love Me?"
With courage and a strong conviction, I answered boldly,
"Yes Lord!  I love You because you are the one and true God!"
I thought I had answered well,  but....God asked,

"THEN WHY DO YOU SIN?"

I answered, "Because I am only human.. I am not perfect."

"THEN WHY IN TIMES OF PEACE DO YOU STRAY THE FURTHEST?
WHY ONLY IN TIMES OF TROUBLE DO YOU PRAY THE EARNEST?"

No answers...Only tears.The Lord continue:

"Why only sing at fellowship and retreats? Why seek Me only in times of worship?
Why ask things so selfishly?
The tears continued to roll down my cheeks.....
"Why are you ashamed of me? Why are you not spreading the good news?
Why in times of persecution, you cry to others when I offer My shoulder to cry on?
Why make excuses when I give you opportunities to serve in my name?"

I tried to answer, but there was no answers to give.

"You are blessed with life. I made you not to throw this gift away.
I have blessed you with talents to serve Me, but you continue to turn away.
I have revealed My Word to you, but you do not gain in knowledge.
I have spoken to you but your ears were closed.
I have shown My blessings to you, but your eyes were turned away.
I have sent you servants, but you sat idly by as they were pushed away.
I have heard your prayers and I have answered them all."

"DO YOU TRULY LOVE ME?"

I could not answer. How could I? I was embarassed beyond belief. I had no excuses.
What could I say to this? When my heart had cried out and the tears had flowed, I said,
"Please forgive me Lord. I am not worthy to be Your child."
The Lord answered. "That is My grace, My child."
I asked, "Then why do you continue to forgive me? Why do You love me so??
The LOrd answrd, "Because you are My creation. You are My child.   I will never abandon you.

When you cry, I will have compassion and cry with you
When you shout with joy, I will laugh with you.
When you are down, I will encourage you.
When you fall, I will raised you up
When you are tired, I will carry you.
I will be with you till the end of days, I will love you forever."

Never had cried so hard before.  How could I have been so cold?
How could I have hurt God as I  had done? I asked God, "How much do you love me?"
The Lord stretched out His arms, and I saw His nail-pierced hands.
I bowed down at the feet of Christ, my savior.
And for the first time,..I truly prayed.
